Whilst there are certain ‘conventions’ in the field of CV writing and job hunting, each person is unique so it is only right that your CV is ‘yours’, reflecting your understanding of yourself, rather than mine, or anyone else’s. You need to be able to own and understand your CV as opposed to having someone taking your details and ‘formatting’ it into something that you do not recognise or can work with, especially when it comes to the interview.
Application Forms too, can be daunting, as can be trying to make the transition from Public to Private Sector. Do you know how to 'translate' your skills from one sector to the other?

My role will be to listen to you and your experiences then help you to work with me to produce a CV or Application Form that, when you reach interview, you can draw on effectively to answer the questions and tests you will be faced with.

There is much more to finding and securing a good position than simply having a good CV. Too often people miss opportunities to enhance their exposure to job prospects because, although they have a good CV, they do not know how to use it effectively. For example, most jobs, certainly in the commercial sector, are not even advertised. How do you access them? You can - and I will show you how. Further, it is not uncommon for people to successfully secure an interview or an Assessment Centre and then be completely unprepared for it. My service will help you navigate the job market both before and after you’ve secured the interview.

Following a 23 year career in the Royal Navy including the Submarine Service and welfare/counselling services, then a short and enjoyable spell as a Consultant at the Scottish Executive, Kenneth went on to be a highly successful Career and Outplacement Consultant with a leading global career consultancy. Specifically working with members of the armed forces preparing to enter civilian employment, he was selected to become one of the company’s first Staff Competency Assessors, ensuring the highest consultancy standards were met. He has worked successfully with people in career transition from all professional levels from frontline to senior executive/director level.

Other Stuff
Kenneth lives at home in Fife with his wife Diane and three demanding and completely unruly cats. His hobbies include writing (poetry, speeches, scripts and anything involving words!), acting, film-making and directing. He is an accomplished singer, a ropey guitarist and an utterly incompetent pianist!
